The Challenge:
Palms Casino needed a strategic activation to capture the influx of visitors attending Las Vegas’ annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and Cowboy Christmas Convention each December.

The Results:
ThemeDream transformed unused restaurant square footage into a revenue-generating holiday destination that felt tailor-made for the rodeo demographic while still appealing to broader Las Vegas nightlife culture. Santa’s Saloon was a rootin’ tootin’ Cowboy Christmas honky-tonk pop-up bar & immersive saloon show that re-imagined the holiday season with a Wild West twist! An ole’ western saloon façade concealed the entire front entrance with a large “Santa’s Saloon” sign welcoming guests through its swingin’ saloon doors. Guests were immediately immersed into a festive bar split in half into two themes playing on “fire” and “ice” . The fire side featured a saloon setting with dilapidated faux- wood walls, an enormous faux stone fireplace with cow-fur stockings, reindeer mounts, cowhide and horse-saddle bar stools, and a large “Naughty Jail” photo opp. The other side featured a Frozen Rockies Winter Wonderland theme with a large frozen “North Pole Express” stagecoach in a winter forest scenic walls, a frozen bar with glowing (LED) ice bar stools & ottomans, and a snow-covered floor marked by bear footprints leading to an ice cave where trespassing guests encountered a ferocious 8-foot grizzly bear! Nothing screamed Country Christmas spirit better than swapping ‘Frosty the Snowman’ for ‘Frostbite the Grizzly’!

Santa’s Saloon featured a live saloon act show called A Fistful of Holiday Spirit featuring a cast of your most beloved, iconic Christmas characters gone naughty! Hosted by a drunk Cowboy Santa and an overly flirtatious, scantily dressed Mrs. C., this debaucherous holiday spectacle included performances by Rudy the Pissed-Off Reindeer, Mornin’ Wood the Sexy Toy, and Chaps the Elf’n Sheriff with a Napoleon complex! From seductive burlesque numbers to guest lap-dance contests on Santa to full-bar sing- alongs to “Friends in Low Places”, Santa’s Saloon was officially the rowdiest Christmas pop-up in all of Naughtyville (aka Sin City)!

Santa’s Saloon featured its own unique spin on holiday cocktails such as “Ain’t that a Kick in the Nutcracker?” served in a Santa’s Saloon cowboy tin cup souvenir; “The Good, the Bad & The Naughty” presented with a ‘Coal for Christmas’ theme; and cold beer served in a Santa boot or Rodeo bullhorn. However, the most talked about menu item was “The Outlaw”, an experiential cocktail where guests had their photo AI rendered into a “Wanted” poster and assigned a unique outlaw nickname, criminal charges and bounty. Their poster graphic was then displayed on our saloon walls (LED screens) where The Elf’n Sheriff could arrest “Outlaw” guests and throw them in to Naughty Jail. The guest could then order a “Jailbreak” shot, served in a flaming dynamite stick (shot glass) to escape!

Santa’s Saloon came out of the blocks guns a-blazing, with lines wrapped around the corner and wait times sometimes exceeding two hours. Santa’s Saloon received over 10 million impressions on social media and ranked as the highest-viewed Christmas pop-up bar in Las Vegas. It was social media influencer magnet, received rave media reviews, and was featured on Channel 5 News. Palms Resort Casino was so pleased with ThemeDream’s results that Santa’s Saloon has been renewed for a 2nd year and the experience will be doubled in size to accommodate customer demand.
