Client: Private Corporate Client
Project: Heroes & Villains
Location: The Meritage Resort & Spa, Napa, CA
Event Type: Corporate Departmental Event
Attendees: 400

The Challenge:
ThemeDream was hired to experientially design and ‘elegantize’ a comic book superhero theme for their corporate client’s annual department retreat to not feel like Little Billy’s 6-year-old superhero birthday!

The Results:
ThemeDream transformed an empty hotel ballroom into the colorful comic book world of iconic superheroes and villains inspired by Marvel and DC Comics. As famous superhero TV and movie theme tunes played, guests entered a comic book storefront that served as a portal to another multiverse dimension of comic book-looking set designs, cityscapes, theatrical backdrops, lighting, projections, and live superhero and villain characters. Guests enrolled in our Superhero Academy with teachers Wonder Woman, Captain America, Spiderman and Wolverine, having to pass a series of game challenges such as lassoing villains, shield tossing targets, a webslinger shooting gallery and a final exam of one’s metal claws’ dexterity against the clock and their fellow Superhero Academy students! Superhero Academy graduates were awarded a printed comic book cover souvenir of their superhero self, generated by our AI Photo Booth stations. Cocktail Bars were designed to look like comic book city newsstands (“Metropolis News” and “Gotham News”) with an eye-catching “Super Cocktails” menu featuring “Venom” old-fashioned with a candy tongue, “Poison Ivy” mojito with an ivy strand garnish and a “Batman” black-colored margarita. The party went into “Wham! Bam! Pow!” overdrive as our Batman-costumed DJ kept the dancefloor in a frenzy with a 1000-pound-dancing “Hulk” leading the entire crowd in group dances while Deadpool brought down the house on stage with his famous “Bye Bye Bye” dance performance.
